Begoña Bang Matu is a ska-reggae singer who has been performing on stages all around the world since the 80s. She blends Jamaican music with soul and jazz, a fact that has meant for her to be one of the most popular and recognized female voices in the Jamaican spanish scene. For some time, Begoña sang in many bands such as Malarians, Potato or Orquesta Kingston. Then, she decided to work with the Valencian The shake it up's, instrumental section of the group known as Ki sap. Out of this partnership, it came up the last work by Begoña published to date, Have fun.
After two years of concerts, we want to continue this new distance relationship between Madrid and Valencia, so we want to record a 4-songs-EP which will be made up of covers and original songs. We are sure you will enjoy the development of the recordings and the new tunes that we have prepared.
We rely on your help to continue doing our bit for the Jamaican scene. This time around we will be promoted by the young label Rude Daddy Records
Unfortunately, these are not good times for culture, and less unofficial, and in order to continue we need collaborative projects like this.
Where we will allocate your contributions
Your collaboration will go entirely to the recording of the songs, the design of vinyl and t-shirts we offer as a reward. If the case of exceeding the target should occur, we would invest the money in the promotion of the work by means of a video.
Once achieved the goal we would start recording in June, and we hope we can send your rewards before September. The presentation concert will also be around that date.
