A DOCUMENTARY FILM ABOUT A CHANGE / SHORTCUTS TO THE INTEGRAL REVOLUTION

In a system in decadence, immersed in crisis, there are people who, confronted with difficulties, trace imaginary lines and new paths. More organic ways that try to blur the lineal, static maps of the dominant system.

We are making a documentary film about the processes of change in people who have decided to disconnect themselves from the capitalist system and choose other forms of relation, of living, consuming and of using their time.

This film slips into the lives of people who have dared to defy the structures of this system in order to trace new routes, more coherent with the reality that we are living.

We believe that this crisis goes far beyond the economy, that, in reality, it is an opportunity of rethinking the way we do things. We know that there are people who are struggling daily to create the world in which they wish to live.

And rather than worry we want to manage and motivate ourselves to collectively find back doors, paths still to be discovered, or any shortcut that can bring us to another reality.

We want to participate in the creation of new references in our language, the audiovisual, and we insist on the importance of portraying these embrionary processes full of promise for the future.

It will be a project licensed under Creative Commons so that it can be freely distributed and can inspire other transformative initiatives.

THE COOPERATIVA INTEGRAL CATALANA

The Integral Catalan Cooperative is the framework within which we tell our story. The cooperative is a decentralised network of projects which seeks to articulate a social fabric which covers all the basic necessities of life - lodging, work, food, health, education, energy - and which strives to generate new languages and ways of relating together. An integral revolution which empowers individuals and is constantly under way where changes are being made. The Catalan Integral Cooperative (CIC) is a 2 year old project that is already giving tangible results in Catalunya while it's reproducible model is inspiring numerous projects in Spain and worldwide.

Ca La Fou - the post-capitalist factory-village

The collectivisation of a former industrial colony to create a project for sustainable living and production, related to technological independence and creative activism. Redifining individual and collective spaces.

L'Albada - reinventing education.

An initiative which integrates various methods of alternative education to generate a project of living education, based on the accompanying of the processes of childhood and adolescence.

Cooperative Health System . Another health system is possible!

A project based on the self-management of health, as an alternative to the state's health system, where the whole person is considered and not just the illnesses.

La Torre de Puijarnol - We are community.

A cooperative project for ecological and artesanal food production, based on self-employment and the local economy.

WHO ARE WE?

“Inlakesh” is a group of 2 women with shared concerns and sensibilities coming from the documentary film world. We have got together in order to make this project in a horizontal and autonomous way.

Gloria Matamala (1973) Trained as a photographer at the IEFC in Barcelona. She has participated in various seminars such as the Social Documentary workshop with Belkis Vega, The Creative Documentary and its Making with Patricio Guzmán, as well as various masterclasses with reknowned documentary directors. She worked as a photographer in newspapers and magazines. She has been making documentaries for many years, mainly focussed on social and environmental themes. She has a wide experience as camera operator and film editor. Among her latest projects are : La ley del ladrillo (2007), La trata (2008), Terra de tots (2009), Bajo en carbono (2010), Receptes (2010)

Irene Colell (1983)Graduate in Artistic Photography from the Escola D’Art Serra i Abella in l’Hospitalet, she participated in the course of documentary for TV at the Observatorio de Cine led by Javier Berrocal and in the course of Social Documentary led by Belkis Vega. She has worked as director on the documentaries Marcando Rumba (2008) and Aquest Conte no s’ha acabat (2010), which was a prize winner in the Cine Invisible Festival in Bilbao in 2011. She also makes videoart and documentary photography.

WHAT WILL WE DO WITH THE MONEY?

We want to cover the last phase of the documental : 4500 euros to pay for the remaining shooting, the editing and the post-production. All the preceeding phases have been entirely self-financed.

We need your collaboration for the project to be finished and for it to serve as a tool for continuing the collective construction of the reality that we have dreamed together!!
