¡GRACIAS! Thank You! תודה
We are so exited about the amazing collaboration and participation in this campaign.
When we first calculated the expenses of this new album, we reached 3500 euros, but listening to more experienced people and the Verkami assessors, we marked the goal lower so we can at least asure ourselves part of it.
Now, once we reached that partial goal, thanks to all you, amazing people out there, we are placing a new goal...
Liona & Serena Strings is about to release its new album Sefarad
We ask for your trust and help to purchase the album in advance (and some other super cool rewards that we have prepared for you) so that we are able to make this happen.
Sefarad will include 12 emotional songs, recorded in Trafalgar Studios with the sound master - Curro Ureba
In the project also collaborate Rafa (Teto) Fontaiña on the percussion and Topo Melgar on the bass.
The cover and the booklet will include the precious photos of Tomoyuki Hotta
They will cover part of the costs of the recording, mixing, mastering, production and album artwork.
Take a look at the list of rewards we want to pamper you with. This is our way to pay our appreciation and gratitude for your support.
It would be an honor and a pleasure to include your name in the thank-you list in the album booklet.
Schedule and time table of the project?
We are already busy recordings and graphic work making of the album.
The mixing, mastering and audio producing, we assume to be finished by the end of May or early June (by then the anticipated digital download will be available).
Physically, the album should be ready between the mid June and early July.
once the campaign is finished we will add your names to the thank you list and send the album to print.
We are almost ready with the graphics of the album, its quality and completion will depend on the outcome of the campaign.
Thus we anticipate that the rewards will be sent or delivered to our patrons during the month July 2017.
A little about "Sefarad"
"My heart is in the east and I in the outmost west"
(Rabbi Yehuda Halevi 1075-1141)
"Sefarad" musically combines two parts of the Jewish culture in the old Iberian peninsula during the Golden Age:
On the one hand the Sephardic music passionate, of love, dismay, parties, wine, smiles and tears, and on the other hand the spiritual, the divine, the soul search, the search for reasons for life and inner peace.
The Sephardic Music, created by the Jews who lived in the Iberian peninsula called Sefarad before the Reconquest. The Sephardic language ("Ladino" in Hebrew) is characterised by the mixture of ancient Spanish with the languages of Ottoman, North African Empires (where the Jews expelled from Sepharad fled to) and Hebrew. The Sephardic music kept alive from then until today, passing from generation to generation verbally.
The "Piyutim" are Hebrew spiritual and philosophical texts written throughout 2000 years of diaspora - since the second temple was demolished in Jerusalem and the Jews were expelled. These texts were written and used in prayers and to long for Zion. The Piyutim that contains this album are all originated of the Spain of that time.
With our personal touch, "Sefarad" comes to live again, and sounds everywhere!
