Album is a feature film framed in the Final Project for Audiovisual Communication (Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona).
Alex and Paula set off on a roadtrip. They are going to an artist residence in a farmhouse in the Pyrenees during four months. During their stay they will record their first electronic music EP and, afterwards, a small presentation tour. They are inseparable friends since childhood and share their passion for music. Days before leaving, in Barcelona, Alex receives a call telling her that she has been accepted in the scholarship she applied for months before. She has the opportunity to take a masters degree on music in New York during three years.
Decision and doubt will condition the trip of two friends that face their future. To choose your path with all the consequences it entails. The eternal doubt of doing the right thing. Immediacy, premature decisions, fear of deceiving and loosing while they see how their friendship is slowly becoming a memory.
Alex finds herself for the first time with the obligation of making a drastic decision that will condition her future and Paula’s. Two good options, and choosing one means losing the other. Her head, full of contradictions, mixes doubt and the fear of not choosing right, emotion and the guilt that would come with abandoning the project that shares with Paula. A trip that makes her move forward while leaving things behind.
Alex is played by Emma Arquillué.
Paula finds herself for the first time excited and convinced with the project she and Alex are developing. She has finally found the path she wants to follow but her plans are frustrated with the decision Alex has to make. Moved by disappointment, she reconsiders recording the EP, as she would have to defend it alone while thinking of a possible professional and personal break up with Alex makes her sad. From her seat she will see how they get closer to their future.
Paula is played by Sara Diego.
Thanks to all your contributions we will be able to get this project off the ground. This money will be the biggest part of our film budget. A grosso modo, we will be able to handle shooting and postproduction costs.
The idea of the film has been developed for some time now. Since last September the project has grown and changed, both the script and the preproduction. The shooting calendar is divided in two parts. This decision has been made consciously, each block corresponds to a dramatic setting in the movie.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH TO ALL THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE ARRIVED HERE. YOU ARE THE BEST. IF, FURTHERMORE, YOU ARE ABLE TO DONATE A COUPLE HUNDRED EUROS PER PERSON THAT WOULD MAKE YOU THE VERY BEST OF THE BEST FOREVER.
