My name is Iker Karrera and I am a Spanish dancer and choreographer with residence in Madrid.
In addition to working as a dancer, choreographer and dance teacher in Spain and abroad, a year ago I released my first short piece of contemporary dance: #7fm.
Since then the piece couldn´t have had a better reception among the public: it has been awarded in different national competitions and represented, in addition to all of Spain, in European cities like Paris, Brussels, Nice or Hereford (UK).
When we thought that the trajectory of the piece could not go better, we have recently been selected to present the piece at the Dumbo Dance Festival in NYC, an important contemporary dance festival that celebrates its 17th edition next October at the Gelsey Kirkland ArtsCenter , in Brooklyn, Nyc.
But there is a small inconvenience, and it is that the Festival does not cover travel expenses, accommodation, or meal costs during our stay in NYC. However, it would be very interesting to be able to present my work there since the Festival is attended by important representatives of the world of dance as well as programmers at a national and international level.
From now on, YOUR HELP is essential.
Why do we need your help?
We need your help to cover all the expenses required to take #7fm to NYC, that is to say, 3 plane tickets from Madrid and cover 5 days of accomodations and meals in the big apple.
The rewards we offer are related to dance, that is to say, in addition to thanking you enormously for your help, by sending you the official poster of the piece, we will give you dance classes with me and with Carla and Raymond among many other teachers from Madrid. And we'll also invite you to a private #7fm rehearsal in Madrid. Where? In Danza180º, dance school that I co-direct with my mates Fernando Lázaro and Amaya Galeote in Madrid.
If I get the funding we will travel to NYC next October 4th and it will be once we come back, October 12, when I will start delivering all the rewards and organizing the private rehearsal.
