Our play Miedos was selected in 2019 to participate in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Due to Coronavirus we had no choice but to postpone our assistance until... ¡ This year 2023 !
We aim to obtain with this Crowdfunding financial aid with the objective of fulfilling our dream: sharing with you all Neko's most significant play in Edinburgh. ( See graphic below )
Edinburgh Festival Fringe is one of the oldest and largest international festivals in the world where we can showcase our talent. It started 76 years ago when not all theatre companies couldn´t perform in Tolbooth Church ( now known as "The Hub") so they started to perform on the streets. More companies would join with the years and suddenly Festival Fringe was created.
HELP US TO BE ONE OF THESE COMPANIES THIS YEAR!
It is a challenge for us to present this play to international audiences, where the universality of our subject can be verified.During the past few months we’ve been adapting our play for the festival and we’ve decided that we will be performing in Spanish and projecting English overtitles.
CVENUES will give us the chance to perform from the 2nd until the 6th of August in a venue called C cubed.
Neko Teatro was founded in 2019. Its journey on stages start with Miedos shows woman daily life and our rol in society. Following this research Neko will do a collection of photos, Still Alive with the photographer Edwin Cano, Canogram. Still Alive was exhibited in Madrid and Málaga, Spain. The love for photography will lead Neko to another photo exhibition called Shapes, an investigation of the body and its shapes. Shapes was exhibited in Athens, Greece.
Exploring the feminine sexual education Neko will do Tabú a comedy of a collective creation where four women will speak about their deep sexual secrets. Its last creation is Masa Madre , still work in progress project created in Residencia La Jacaranda. Masa Madre will speak about the evolution of a bakery and its village when a signal of "One of the most beautiful village in Spain" appears at the beginning of the town.
Miedos is a theatre play that talks about everyday sexism. It is a physical theatre play with live music and an acoustic atmosphere exclusively composed for this play.
Miedos talks about women’s vital transitions. The same path all women take until they understand their role in society without even noticing.
Miedos talks about a girl that discovers, while aging, society’s constraints, and how she decides to break the rules and to start living the life she truly desires. Miedos allows us to speak openly about situations that unfortunately make part of our daily life and which society accepts as normal and irrelevant facts. It’s our way to raise our voice and we will keep raising it till all these situations will change.
Collaborate with us so we can perform Miedos at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe!
