Project description
They say it's easier to tell stories when we feel somewhat attached to them, and maybe that's why we've chosen to tell the story of an artist in the way that it feels from the inside.
Our main motivation is to visibilize and show the situation of job insecurity that spanish young adults suffer every day, specially if their aspirations are ties to the arts; in this case, theatre.
We take inspiration and references from the short films Matria (Álvaro Gago, 2017) and Beat (Aneil Karia, 2013), both in a stylistic and in an narrative-wise way. Our aim is to create a realistic short film, without any embellishments and without romantizing the position our main character is in.

Synopsis
Juanjo is a young adult from Seville, Spain, who works as a rider (a demand-by-app delivery man). In the scarce free hours he has in a day, he practices for his true passios: being a theatre actor. His position of being and exploited worker doesn't give him the time or the money to study in a non-autonomous way. Try as he might, he must constantly confront the harsh reality of the theatrical world with added baggage: his own unstable situation.
Frustration, effort, hard work and struggle are the key aspects that both precarious workers and artists have to face due to the unstable nature of their field of work, feelings that don't hit far from home with most people, and which we can find in the eyes of our peers. We've decided to show all of this in the form of this rider who aspires to be an actor, and who's lost count of how many castings he's been to.
